Configure Windows Firewall For VNC server

This article describes how to manually configure your Windows Firewall for VNC on Windows XP as a remote computer.

This description asumes that you have installed your VNC Server on the following ports
Port for VNC Server : 5900
Port for VNC Server on HTTP : 5800

Step 1 - Open your windows firewall

Step 2 – In Exceptions tab, click Add Port button

Step 3 - add port ’5900′ in port number field. and a relative name with it. and click OK

again click Add Port button in the dialog titled ‘Windows Firewall’
Step 4 - add port ’5800′ in port number field. and a relative name with it. and click OK

Click ok in the dialog titled ‘Windows Firewall’

You are done!
